Carved into the living rock on the shores of Lake Geneva, directly opposite the iconic Chillon Castle, the Fort de Chillon Museum is one of the most extraordinary sites in French-speaking Switzerland. A former underground military installation, classified as top secret until 2001, this bunker hewn from the mountainside carries a truly unique atmosphere: dark tunnels, armoured chambers, the feel of a secret operations base.
In normal times, the Fort tells the story of Swiss military history. But from 20 November 2026, it will transform into something entirely unexpected.
